Joseph Loughery
Joseph Michael Loughery, 68, of Keaau died Dec. 17, 2016, at home. Born Feb. 2, 1948, in Berkeley, Calif., he was a retired steamship agent for Williams Diamond Shipping in San Francisco.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Dec. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo with a 10 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Nanaimo Loughery of Keaau; daughter, Jireh Loughery of Keaau; sister, Maureen Canaris of Placerville, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mabel Damasco
Mabel Benevides Damasco, 94, of Pepeekeo died Dec. 6, 2016, in Hilo. Born Jan. 13, 1922, in Hilo, she was a retired housekeeper for the former Naniloa Hotel in Hilo and a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Big Island Portuguese Culture Club, Pepeekeo Community Association, Kaupakuea Homestead Community Association and Immacualate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Visitation will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Dec. 23 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou with a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire; burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.
She is survived by daughters, Yvonne (Thomas) Rezentes of Hilo, Gwen Perreira of Mountain View, Noreen (Ezekiel) Luiz of Pepeekeo, eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, John (Selena) Benevides of Maryland; sister, Eva Santos of Honolulu; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Forrest Palmer
Forrest “Hiram” Francis Palmer, 97, of Hilo died Dec. 13, 2106, at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans State Home. Born March 18, 1919, in Worcester, Mass., he was a retired railroad repairman and a World War II Army veteran.

June Bell
June Nakoa Bell, 77, died Nov. 22, 2016, in Honolulu. She was raised in Kamuela.
A celebration of life will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at Mililani Mauka Mortuary. Burial will follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Oahu. Aloha attire and flowers are welcome.
Finis Montgomery
Finis “Monte” Ferman Montgomery, 92, of Keaau died Dec. 9, 2016, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born June 6, 1924, in Bethany, Okla., he was a former state representative for the Oregon House of Representatives, former president of Associated Oregon Loggers, proprietor of Tivoli Travel, and member of the Paradise Park Baptist Church.

Michelle Anderson, 46, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 3, 2016. Born Dec. 14, 1969, in Cape Canaveral, Fla., she worked in timeshare and activity sales, was a member of Living Stones Church and founder of the “Joyful Hands” charity knitting group at the church.
